I did not think Cervelli would need a 60-day DL stint. Wow

    Weird and interesting.

The guy has never posted a positive WAR in any of his 4 years.

I'd prefer they ride it out until Adams is able to get called up on the 15th

Can't get any worse than Nix? Are you kidding? There have been many, many worse utility IFers in MLB. There are now. And Nelson might even be one. Nix has been decent this year and is a smart player.

Obviously, this Nelson guy is to replace CoJo until Youk comes back. CoJo is not really competent at 3B, so there was no adequate defensive replacement for Nunez-Nix, which was a real problem.

With the way injuries are biting everybody in the butt, I was surprised it didn't happen sooner. This is unreal.

probably also gives them more time to play Romine and give him another look. Cervelli could be a throw in piece for a midseason trade
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

If the Braves think Gattis should start and want a cheap backup for him AND the Yankees think Romine/Stewart/Murphy can work for 2014, it might make sense to do a Cervelli for McCann swap.

    He's a ballplayer.

    The Yanks are 17-10.
Injuries are the only reason he's getting the time and he hasn't cost the Yankees a game yet. I don't think, anyhow.
At 900,000 large, he gives the Yankees a whole lot of versatility at little cost.

Stop trying to cloud the conversation with facts.

If he is not hitting .300 with a .900 OPS, it matters not that he plays credible defense at three different position (and is trying to add a fourth to help the team) and is one of the lowest paid players on the team.

Didn't you get the memo? :sarcasm:

    Whoops...wrong Nelson.

Mustelier just completed rehab and has just 3 games under his belt, 2 at Scranton. He was one of the few players I looked forward to seeing this season, which probably means I shouldn't hold my breath.
