Maybe we should try to lock him up for next season

We'd be 10 games Under .500 without him.

I love watching the guy pitch. He has dignity and profesionalism. Sort of like Mo.

He deserves a nice raise, but then again he deserves a team with better offense.

On a fair value deal, what would Hiro be worth in 2014? You'd have to say low to mid 20M the way he's pitching

Nice story in the Times today:

Kuroda Draws Attention for Errorless Streak

Kurodaís 99 errorless starts is second among active starters, four behind the Toronto Blue Jaysí J. A. Happ, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Happ has not committed an error in 123 appearances, including 20 in relief. His errorless streak covers 623 total innings; Kurodaís is spread over 645 innings.

ďItís not so much something I take pride in,Ē Kuroda said through his interpreter, Jiwon Bang. ďItís just what I do. Fielding is just a part of who I am. Itís part of my body.Ē

The pitching is excellent, but Kuroda is a pretty slick fielder, too.

Ho hum, another seven scoreless innings from Hiroki Kuroda. Itís his sixth start of at least seven scoreless innings this season and 12th since the start of last season. Thatís the most in MLB. Felix Hernandez has done it 11 times, Clayton Kershaw ten times, and no one else more than eight times. Kuroda is down to a 0.69 ERA in four July starts with one more to go.

He's learning. If you want a W, put up a zero. If the rest of the staff does that, too, we have a chance. (Great job in Texas, HK!)

Mel Stottlemyre-ish. If he wanted a "w" he couldn't afford to give up many runs.

In 1966, the year Stottlemyre was 12-20 for a tenth-place team, he was only 9-7 in games where he gave up 2 or fewer runs.

Insane. I legit can't remember the last time a Yankee starter had a season like this. Sabathia's been pretty great, but he hasn't had this many shutdown starts in one season.

Seriously sucks he's as old as he is, dammit.

Maybe the best Yankee pitching season since Clemens in 2001?

Sabathia's already had three seasons superior to that. Dude picked a bad year to suck, could have had a nifty 1-2 punch. Bleh.

Hell, Clemens wasn't even the best Yankees starter in 2001.

So if he wanted $30M, you'd actually be on board with that?
