Could be wrong, but I think it was Alan Horne.

I think it was constantly changing. Wasn't Clippard in there at one point?

I tend to agree with this, although if it is a down season without any exciting young players to create hope and intrigue it's probably understandably going to be pretty gloomy. Debating with doom-sayers can be engaging from time to time I guess.

On a related note, this isn't the first time I've seen someone proclaim the site's "declining popularity." Yes, the game threads are "different", and there are some posters I'd grown to appreciate that are either gone or rare visitors... but are people calling out their personal opinions on their relative enjoyment or is the forumer/post count down substantially?

All I can say is that from Spring Training on, heard how the loss of Swisher and the many who went down with injuries would put a tremendous damper on our run production, not to mention our power numbers(Homers). But from my perspective we have one of the best pitching staffs in the majors and our offense is starting to come around; we've played seven games and have ten homers. That doesn't seem to be a drought to me, especially since all of our games so far have been played in cold weather. I am still optimistic

Good thoughts Andy. And don't forget, the 1998 Yankees started out 1-3.

My optimism was already coming around, but this little bit of info has me locked in. Thanks John.

1976 and 1981 the Yankees made it to the WS, alas they lost to the Reds, then the Dodgers.
