    2013 Phil Hughes Performance Thread

Didn't see one yet, and he starts today.

Hopefully he pitches well in his walk year.

Fingers crossed Phil can keep the Tigers limited to three/four runs max and we might actually have a chance to win.

Hughes and Nova continue to poop on the notion that very good-solid K/BB rates will make you a fairly good pitcher.

I believe it was our old brony friend, d3213214524, who said that this was the best starting rotation the Yankees have had in decades. And meant it.

d32123 was way too realistic for that statement. maybe snapple?

Here you go. Follow this thread, it gets interesting. Actually, he said the best in "ages" not "decades."

He probably took his $2.50 and left. He couldn't possibly be referring to Hughes' ERA...right?

Go figure...5 games into the year, the BP already is taxed, Hughes is forced to make a start that he should not make and the Yankees suffer for it.

Pettitte, El Duque, Wells, Cone and Irabu, please. I'm not that naive.

That 98 team was silly good. But yeah, I'd dump Irabu for Clemens anyday .

We all realize that today was supposed to have been his first rehab start in Scranton and outside of a start in extended ST and a couple of batting practices hasn't thrown much this year?

I consider it a victory that he didn't give up a HR and kept us in the game until he ran out of gas.

Seems like it's gonna be that way a lot this year. We'll find encouragement in the little things, just to take the edge of losing.

Yeah, someone should start a "Silver Linings" thread.

Hughes should make Detroit one of his places to sign next year. Fly ball pitcher in that park, he wouldve gotten smoked at YS.

Re: 2013 Phil Hughes Performance Thread

Hughes will have a good year, and Cash will know it's a smart move to keep him in pinstripes through his absolute prime years as a good bet to be a mid-rotation workhorse. A 4 year deal with an option, or even a 5 year deal only takes them through his age 31 season. I don't see how the Yanks can let him go when Kuroda and Andy are knocking on the couch's door and not enough guys beneath him have distinguished themselves.
