Well this argument would also be appropriate at the time the thread was started.

But this thread is a tribute to the best team ever assembled and in response to all those negative Nancys and naysayers!

Just having a laugh at ArodEra's expense. I mean, if he's going to be ultra-cynical and pessimistic with this thread - which is fine, and fun, I get the genesis of it - let's have a little fun with it when the sky doesn't fall.

In fairness, the post I responded to was from 4/5, when Overbay had 11 AB on the season after a relatively limited number of ST PA's.

I mean if this thread isn't the ultimate in irony, what is? Yeah, all the sunshine, lollipop and rainbow players have come in and helped this team get to first place in mid-May.

Has Curt Schilling called Sunshine, Lollipop and Rainbow dancers in a nightclub yet?

Strange. Over 1/4 of the way into the season:
    Yankees are in 1st
    Boston is in 2nd
Toronto is dead effing last, ~10 games out of first,
LA is 10 games behind the Rangers and
the Dodgers are almost 10 games out of first.

I wouldn't have guessed any of those things.

I guess the "sucks" fits in with the "lollipops" theme of this thread.

Why? Because some Met fans are busting your proverbial balls the last few days? The team is a game out of first place.

He's right about the stadium. It does suck. Wouldn't go there unless I had nothing better to do and got really cheap tickets.

As much as I hate to admit it, I feel the same way. I miss the old stadium terribly. It was a great baseball park, it rocked, the fans were loud- a true home field advantage. History was palpable when you walked in. This new palace is a decadent monstrosity, a narcissistic ode to greed where corporate casuals sit in place of actual fans and which is so quiet and disinterested that it has become an easy place for a road team to play.

I was lucky enough to sit just outside the moat 2 weeks ago. I will never sit inbetween the bases again. The most prentitious fans ever, no one watched the game.
