I think with a LHP going for Boston Girardi wanted the RH hitting Youkilis batting 4th today. Youk did hit the ball hard against Lester.

First time through the rotation ... everyone who had David Phelps as the fifth starter (including me) got screwed at the last minute, but I'll take it if they win this afternoon.

Don't ask me how I did it, but I got the Hughes start question right - of course, I missed five of the six opening day lineup questions.

And, who'da thunk that Brett Gardner would not be the first Yankee to steal a base - did anyone have Nunez as the first steal of the season?

Only first question left is the first DFA and I can pretty much guarantee I won't get that one right - I have Corban Joseph as my answer and, with our total lack of IF depth, that just ain't gonna happen.

EDIT: And, with five losses, I can forget the record after ten games point - I was optimistic and went for 7-3. Yikes. Right now, I would be happy with 3-7 the way this team is playing.

Yeah, I got basically all of the lineup questions wrong too. But I guessed 3-7 for the first 10. I thought they'd have some real growing pains in the first few weeks, then adjust to the new normal (I have them above .500 in the other 2 predictions, not just the first 10 games).

I had the Hughes start right too ... I was one of the few who didn't have Gardner as the first steal (I picked Ichiro) but still missed it ... I went 5-5 after 10 games so they need to win a few more so I can try to climb out of last place

The winning score this year is probably going to be pretty low relative to prior years.

I was checking out the scoring by question and realized that the GIMME questions have not yet been counted in the scores being used to post the current standings.

Given that one person said NO to "Is Bobby Valentine a clown", two don't think that the Mets suck and one person said the Yankees were not their favorite team, scoring these questions could cause a major shakeup in the standings - NOT

    I'm still 53rd out of 53 ... I did better last year when I didn't even participate

Of course, once the record after 10 games gets updated, I might move, since I actually got that one correct ... or maybe that's wishful thinking ...

If I am not mistaken (and that certainly could be a possibility), the answer to your question is a resounding YES.

I seem to recall that earlier in this thread, it was clarified that the answer to that question would be the first player designated AFTER the start of the season on April 1.

The Yankees designated three players (Otero, Aardsma & Rapada) towards the end of Spring Training, but that was before the start of the season. No one was designated in April, although half the team seemed to be moved to the 60-day DL during the month.

Thus, our first DFA is on May 3 and the answer is Clay Rapada.

No. Must be the first DFA'd from the 25 man roster.

Only one person has ever gotten the season attendance question exactly right... and that person did it twice and missed a third time by 3 fans.

JDPNYY was the person who accomplished that feat.
