Thanks for keeping the contest open late. As usual, I submitted this at the last minute. I think because I knew how clueless I was with all of the latest twists & turns for the Yanks, something I was reminded of yesterday when I went to see them play (I'd like this kid Pirela on the team to hit triples, please ). I didn't have the heart (or the time) to review my possibly ridiculous guesses and have decided that's a good thing. Still glad I made the effort. It's a great contest!

With 2 people getting their entries in at the wire... We end up with 53 entries.

Some notes:

3 people think Eric Chavez will be traded to the Yankees before opening day.

18 people think Matt Diaz will make the team, oh, sorry, he was sent down late yesterday.

Mixed feelings on the MessMan. 25 think Melky will make the team, 28 say he won't.

Performance Over/Unders? There are only 3 categories (out of 88) that all 53 people agree on:
1) We all agree that Curtdog will get less than 42 HRs (the contest was written before he got hurt)
2) No one thinks CC will be called upon to get a Save.
3) No one thinks Phil Hughsie will get 2 Saves.
The rest all caused a difference of opinion.
I'm surprised so many thought MarkyT would get 500 at bats. Him being out a month or two (again announced after the contest was written), I went with all the unders for our fast fading expense.

And lastly, we clearly have a few liars in the Gimme Question section. You know who you are.

My last-minute technique did not work this time. I went to print out a spring training roster to see how everyone was doing before I made my picks.... got sidetracked by a phone call, and missed the deadline.

I just assumed we had more time, closer to opening day, so I was waiting to submit my sheet.

Admittedly I did not follow the updates in this thread, so if it has to stay locked I understand, its my fault.

We can't change the deadline this year, but next year the deadline is going to be September 1st.

I don't understand why every year people make the same requests about not knowing when the deadline is.

Don't they know you're supposed to enter your picks right away, promise yourself you'll go back and edit them closer to the deadline, forget to do that and wonder why your picks are so bad later on?

LOL - that's the strategy I've used for years. This year, I waited too long and LITERALLY got in with like 2 minutes to spare. However, I had to TBD a few free form questions just to ensure I got my entry in. When I went back to edit/update, I was out of time. So unless there are rookies named "TBD" that come in and dominate, I'm thinking I'm getting none of those questions right.
