I think he probabky will as well. I just need to see it first.

Wrong. I am just someone who needs to see them do it before I will say they will do it that is all.

Well that kinda sucked, but hard winning games when you score one run. At least we meatloafed them.

I hear the 2:19 train does a pretty good job of that. But a Boston loss is probably preferable.

In reference to Michael Pineda, as his thread was locked:

A baseball official with knowledge of the Yankees' thinking said it would be possible for Pineda to eventually go to the bullpen if the Yankees don't have a spot in the rotation for him. Pineda's power arm in relief could result in the trading of someone like Joba Chamberlain for a bat, or Pineda could just give the Yankees added depth in their already strong pen.
... and this is why this organization is flat out atrocious at player development ... namely pitching. A few more of these and i may just be done with this team.

If they were to do this I'd agree. But you're getting in them based an an "unnamed official with knowledge"?

I don't think that's going to happen as Pineda has already been farmed out to SWB to start every five days there.

Seriously... not only is the source ridiculous, but it's highly qualified:

A baseball official with knowledge of the Yankees' thinking said it would be possible for Pineda to eventually go to the bullpen if the Yankees don't have a spot in the rotation for him.
Reporters write articles like this to get clicks, and bring value to their publications. The response of some here says more about the fans of the Yankees than the team or its ability to develop pitchers.

Yea, because a decision to put Pineda in the bullpen would be out of character for this team.

What happen to Joba and Hughes will not happen here. Too much is riding on Pineda being part of their starting rotation in the near future.

You're acting as if it is already a done deal. I think the source is highly questionable.

I'm willing to wager - are you?

Those decisions were made based on the weakness of the pen. Both were used as the setup men. Not the issue this time, is it?

As fans, some of us would like to think its not going to happen again, but i for one do not put it past Cashman and co. totally FUBARing Pineda with bullpen stints and other horseshet.

They'll do anything for immediate september / october success, including putting young, inexperienced pitchers in unfamiliar situations, like relief work.

I think its much more likely that Hughes could be traded with Pineda taking his spot in the rotation.

    Cashman already shut that down.

He said said something like : " when joe was asked about pineda being a starter, he didn't say no, but I am saying no, it's not going to happen. "

Either that or Phelps is soon going to be relegated to the pen with Warren going down.
