I really think he's not right physically and won't pitch as well as he's capable of ( and that's very good ) till he gets right

He had an ERA over 5 every month except June last year. He's just really hittable.

Said it last year and in spring training this year... Logan is highly underrated 'round these here parts. He's no Sean Henn and doesn't get to choose how his manager uses him. I don't have nearly the confidence when he comes in as many of the other relievers on the staff the past few years, but that's primarily because the Yankees have had pretty strong and deep pens and I questioned the forced LOOGY-ness of some of his appearances. But he's been more effective than he gets credit for.

You sure? I show him with one month >5. Also, when pitching like 9 IP a month that's kind of a tough split to learn from anyway.

EDIT - derp, didn't catch the switch from Logan to Nova. My bad.

If Nunez can't play why not DL him already. Must the Yankees play one man short every game. They tried this with Youkilis and after 2 weeks he went on the DL.

Eduardo Nunez took indoor batting practice today and felt fine. Nunez hopes to play tomorrow, and Girardi said he expects Nunez to play tomorrow. If necessary, Nunez could play today.

Not sure if I should be sad or pleased that Overbay is doing pretty much exactly what Tex would be if he were healthy (give or take a few RBI's).

How the heck do the Yankees include all 4 of Wells, Grandy, Gardner, and Ichiro in the lineup? Maybe Wells plays DH against left handed starters (while Hafner sits). That's the only way it would work.

hmm, i was gonna say that ichiro should sit against lefties [rather than hafner] but then i saw this:

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...&year=2013&t=b
    .359 .350 .462 .812 against lefties this year (41 PAs)
    .212 .297 .273 .570 against righties this year (75 PAs)

The current line-up has good chemistry, and if it's not broken, why try to fix it. I would platoon Wells and Grandy in left field and let the best man play. Same applies to first base.

Young Joe is such a good manger. He will ease everybody into a smooth transition.
It's the pitching that has to remain strong.
The rest will fall into place with hitter match ups and timely defensive replacements.
    The chemistry will actually improve.
    Believe it or not.

With the injuries we've had this year, I'd love to finally have the problem of TOO MANY options, rather than too few.
I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

Amazing that this team is tied for the division lead on May 11. Cashman deserves credit for adding replacements who have contributed and Girardi deserves praise for managing through the injuries. This has been an enjoyable season so far.

Better to have too many guys with hot bats than none. Travis can play first once in a while, although Lyle Overbay seemed to make a statement about that last night.

Hafner can't play first. He doesn't even own a glove.

I am not joking when I suggest that Wells begin taking ground balls at 3B to see if he could, in fact, play the hot corner. If he demonstrates even a reasonable ability to provide defense, I would be willing to take the gamble.

I realize that it is a wild idea, but this season has been wild with all the injuries. With Youk (when he returns) at 1B and Wells at 3B, our lineup would be more balanced.
Forgive me for taking the Contrarian view

If true (and I see no reason to doubt LoHud), then the bye-bye should go to Francisco. His 2013 numbers are such that his SLUGGING AVERAGE IS AT THE MENDOZA LINE.

At least Nelson is hitting his own weight (counting his COL numbers) and has the recent history of his 2012 season numbers to support his staying. He will go when Granderson is ready to return, but I would rather have too many IFers than too many OFers in the short term.
Forgive me for taking the Contrarian view

They can't call him up until the 15th. When does Youk get off the DL?

Not soon. From LoHud last night:

Kevin Youkilis did some rotational workouts in Tampa. Its the first time hes done that since going on the DL. Hes obviously nowhere near getting back on the active roster. I dont have an expectation of when were going to see him, Girardi said.

Rotational workouts? Maybe he's thinking of taking Nova's spot?
