I don't think you know what 'fraud' means.

I guess his 112 OPS+ last season while he was hurt was fraudulent.

It was really an 85 OPS+ but Cashman cooked the books or something.

Haha. Thank Andy for that. He's still got it. (age be darned...that can be the theme for this team)

Kinda "shy" lurking the Game Thread 'cause I listen on Radio (delay) and would feel kinda funny with nothing to really contribute. So gonna get this thread on a good track and ask--

Did The Stadium's foundation crack from the eruption when Enter Sandman started playing tonight?
    They cut away on Radio

Good thread idea, too! The "Age Be Darned" Thread could replace the Team Hero thread

YES did likewise and showed a short retrospective of Mo's career when they came back from commercial.

Great job by Andy tonight as he kept the sox batters off-balance all night long. However, I was surprised that Joe did not lift him for Robertson in the 8th.

Wasn't Jaret Wright a signing of the now defunct "Tampa faction"?

You may be right, so we could cross him off the list.

We have the same record as a few other preseason favorites - Dodgers, Jays, Rays, Tigers, and Angels.

Three games in and we're down to one undefeated team (Nats), but they played the Marlins so I'm not sure that counts. The division races are really heating up.

i am rooting for a failed season for 2 reasons.

its time to get the spoiled arrogant gluttonous aggressive-driving cry-baby fair weather yankee fans off this team. my sister shared a story of a large buffet set up by the team for the fans in the lobby. when the game was over, fans were stuffing their pockets with eets like they were looting iraq. disgraceful.

its also time for years of bad decisions from the top to begin resulting in consequences. they been skating by on unexpectedly outstanding play from the likes of aaron small & raul ibanez for way too long. this trend cannot go on forever. i mean, look at this team when the big contracts are on the DL. disgraceful.

overall the calibur of fan & incompetence of management is a soil to a once great franchise.

I take umbrage to that. there is nothing wrong with an "gluttonous" fan base. It's what makes a good fan imo. someone that is just resigned to his fandom without any expectation or demand for the franchise is a poor and basically absentee shareholder. It's part of the public trust between teams and fans that a team must do whatever is in its power to win and compete. In that end they will earn fans' appreciation. That part should never just be given or submitted without stipulations.

agree completely about the management tho, it's been horrendous and downright atrocious.

Last night I had a dream that Cashman was no longer involved with any decision involving pitchers.

He was once a regular 130 - 170 OPS+ player which is what he was getting paid ~30M per to do. He'll never be that guy again but if he can be a 3rd baseman who gives the Yanks 140 games a year or 110 - 130 OPS+ for 4 years I'd sign up for that in a second.

That may have been another of the many spelling errors in that post. I suspect that the poster is a follower of current dietary fashions, and intended to complain about the "glutinous" fan base.

It sure would be nice if the reported strength for the Yankees in 2013, pitching, would make an appearance.

True enough but 4 games into the season, SP on the whole has been sub-par and the BP is already among the league leaders with 16 IP.

Agreed...and the BP hasn't exactly been stellar.

This offense is going to be so much better than the world thinks it will be.

We just need the starting pitching (and pitching overall) to do better.

I'm not so sure that with this current crop of players that the offense will get better. To me, the only chance for it to get better is for the injured players to return and who knows when that will happen.
