Girardi's head is gonna explode when facing a RH Starter. I don't see how he can avoid having 2 Leftys batting in a row.I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Re: Yankees close to signing Travis Hafner
Overall, I think it's a good move, especially for the money. Hopefully, he's used up his quota for the DL. Good attitude too.

I like this move a lot. Kudos to Cashman for filling an obvious hole with an undervalued player.
Now all we need is a catcher.SI: Do you have a secret ambition?
Igawa: That's secret.

Tex will have to bat 3rd against LHP.

I really like this signing for the Yankees. He has a chance to be a better version of Raul Ibanez.

I am a fan of this signing. Any idea how much $ he is getting?
He should be a monster in YS.

Haven't seen anything official but NYT had the following. I'm assuming it will be very similar to Ibanez' deal.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/01/sp...p;emc=rss&_r=0He has agreed to an incentive-laden deal with the Yankees with a base salary close to $2 million.

Re: Yankees close to signing Travis Hafner
Any guesses on who gets designated to make room for Hafner?
Edit: Arod would make it through waivers (unfortunately).
Edit again: he would need to give consent to be sent to the minors ... but it would be sweet if they could arrange that consent. He would still get paid his money, but he wouldn't be on the 40 man roster, so it wouldn't count against the luxury tax. [/Dreaming]“Everything looks nicer when you win.
