Oops, should have checked (and at least waited for the half-inning to end) before being so hasty.

Can't make this up: A-Rod just got a shower shoe tangled in a chair and almost tripped in the clubhouse

    Sorry, I can't tell you exactly ... I wasn't there.

But I've almost tripped ... you stumble on something and start to fall, but catch yourself.

As for A-Rod's calf problem, he had this to say postgame:

Alex Rodriguez began feeling something in his calf during the third inning. He felt it running out of the box on his single, and he felt it trying to get to second base on Robinson Cano’s double-play ball. There’s an off day tomorrow, and that should help, but right now he’s not entirely certain he’ll be able to play on Tuesday.

“I’m hoping we caught it before it got really bad,” he said. “Come in tomorrow, get treatment, and hopefully be ready to go. … I’ve had a calf injury before, and they’re tricky. They’re very dangerous. I’m hoping that I came out of the game before something really bad happened. Fingers crossed.”

Rodriguez has been playing through a bad hamstring for about a week, and he acknowledged that compensating for that injury might have led to this one.

“That (hamstring)’s getting better,” Rodriguez said. “I was hoping that I was ready to roll in Toronto. … It’s frustrating, especially because I feel so good up there and I feel like I’ve also missed playing third base, and I think it’s important for me to be out there playing third base. I think it makes our team more balanced. But I guess the good news is, we’re leaving Boston.”

Doesn't that mean you tripped and almost fell?

Well, it depends what you're tripping on, I suppose.

To get back to the warning that I received. You may take it with however many grains of salt that you wish. That the brown acid that is circulating around us isn't too good. It is suggested that you stay away from that. Of course it's your own trip. So be my guest, but please be advised that there is a warning on that one, ok?

Is ARod so old that he has to wear shoes and use a chair while taking a shower?

    FROM ESPN:

CC Sabathia has a Grade 2 hamstring strain suffered Friday, and won't pitch again this season.

I've got to admit, I read about the latest injury, Sabathia's hamstring, and just laughed... What a season.

Before this season ends, I expect to hear that ARod , Grandy, Cano, Mo, Pettitte, Sori, and Robertson also go down for the remainder...

I , too, couldn't help laughing, or at least smiling wryly. A Murphy's Law season, for sure.

Just for the record, here is the link to the Yankees.com story on Sabathia's distressed hamstring:

    http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/...&vkey=news_nyy

It seems weird that he sustained a Grade Two strain on Friday, but they only just figured it out today?

Maybe they were just holding back the news for the unlikely event that the Yankees' playoff hopes would still be alive come time for his next start.
