Andy McCullough@McCulloughSL 14m Curtis Granderson took indoor BP for the first time today. He's a few days away from outdoor BP, which is a few days away from games.

40 pitchers, ever, have an ERA+ of 130 or higher for their career. 15 have 140 or higher. 3 guys have 150 or higher - one is right at 150, the second place guy is at 154, and Mariano Rivera is at 205.

Yeah but our lineup vs. lefties could definitely benefit from having Teix in it.

A DL stint for Nova might actually be the quickest way to get him out of the rotation.

Re: The Longest Injury Update Thread Ever 2013

What they should do is put Phelps in the rotation & call up Montgomery. What probably will happen? Chris Bootcheck & Eppley get called up instead.

Looking forward to seeing Romaine and Phelp's is doing an excellant job in relief so he should fill in nicely as the replacement starter. Can we promote Montgomery and add Jeter to the 60 man roster to make room on the 40 man roster?

I'll never understand why Nova has leg up on Phelps. His mL numbers sure as hell didn't warrant it, and his stuff isn't nearly as good.

Re: The Longest Injury Update Thread Ever 2013

Nova actually has/had better stuff than Phelps.

it just doesn't/didn't matter because he has/had hideously awful command.

    More on today's injuries:

    http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/...s_nyy&c_id=nyy

NEW YORK -- Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli fractured his right hand on Ivan Nova's fifth pitch on Friday, and by the third inning, the right-hander also departed the game against the Blue Jays with pain in his right elbow.

The Yankees announced that Cervelli will require surgery on his hand and is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks after he was struck by a foul tip off the bat of Toronto leadoff hitter Rajai Davis.

Nova ventured into the third inning, but he grimaced after allowing a single to Davis. Nova was immediately visited by head athletic trainer Steve Donohue, nodding to acknowledge the discomfort and handed the ball to manager Joe Girardi.

An MRI on Nova's right elbow is scheduled for later on Friday.
From the same link, sounds like Romine's getting called up:

... Catcher Austin Romine was removed mid-inning from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's game against Syracuse, suggesting a likely promotion to the big leagues.

Not in this case, since I also heard it in Joe's postgame presser.

    But, what the heck ...

Bryan Hoch@BryanHoch 23m Plan is to call up Austin Romine to replace Cervelli on roster, Girardi believes
