Two homers against Tampa today in left field and one error aside had a decent defensive game. Hitting has looked sharp for a long time now, even some cheers of Youk (still not sure how that would go down on opening day in YS) when his second homer cleared the fences.

Be fantastic to see him do that against the Sox!

Watched the game today. Didn't see significant changes to his stance/swing. Did he make changes and abandon them already?

There seems to be a one way street when it comes to players on the Yankees and Sox moving, with guys going from Boston to NY, but not so much NY to Boston. Any theories on why that is?

In ST on the radio broadcasts John and Suzyn were saying that Kevin Long had looked at video on Youk throughout his career to date. Long has tried to adapt his stance to what it was originally in Boston when he was hitting for fun. The point being over the last few years he's changed his stance trying to chase hits when he's been struggling. Long has tried to revert it to something more comfortable for Youk and effective, it worked during ST and is still working (another homer in Detroit 05/04/13), so whatever Kevin Long changed keep it that way!

I loved that 2009 team. Imagine if we put that group together in say 2006 instead of 2009. There would have been multiple championships.

Youk has really surprised me so far. I don't know if it's proving he still can get the job done or another change of scenery, but it's working. Couldn't stand him when he was with the Red Sox, but glad to have him now!

Because Boston has absolutely no loyalty to its players. None. Start to show a little decline, and off you go.

All these guys were the face of the franchise at one point or another. None of them finished their careers in Boston. I swear, they haven't had a retirement ceremony in Fenway Park since Carl Yastrzemski.

NO BIG DEAL TO YOUKILIS: Cleveland reliever Carlos Carrasco received an eight-game suspension for throwing at Yankees third baseman Kevin Youkilis earlier this week. Youkilis didn't have much to say on the matter.

"Doesn't have anything to do with my life," Youkilis said.
