Greinke and Dodgers expected to agree to 6/145M deal soon
-rotoworldAccording to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are nearing a six-year, $145 million contract with free agent right-hander Zack Greinke.
24M AAV seems like an obscene amount for someone who has posted ERA+'s of 100, 103, and 114 since his insane 2009 CY Young campaign where he posted a 205 ERA+
The good part for the Dodgers is that they held him to 6 years and will only be 29 on opening day.“He's a clown. Guy says he's from the 209, what the ................ is that?

that's a pretty sweet deal...As long as Greinke doesn't implode during this contract and puts up solid numbers, he could have a chance to get another lucrative deal on top of the one he's about to sign.

What's their payroll for next year? They have to way above 200 million by now.

That is far from up to date. Add Greinke for 24, whatever that Japanese player gets, arbitration eligible cases.....
So it is roughly 208 without arbitration and the Japanese player.....and whoever else they may add.“He's a clown. Guy says he's from the 209, what the ................ is that?

So if they give Greinke 145M, how much do they have to give to Kershaw to lock him up? He is a FA after 2014

Re: Greinke and Dodgers expected to agree to 6/145M deal soon
wow, im really confused by their team now. could someone suggest a fielding layout?
Dee Gordon at SS, Hanley 3B or SS, and for 2B they have Punto/Hairston/Uribe/Luis Cruz
And, as someone mentioned above, 7 starters, and all of them are ML: Kershaw, Billingsley, Beckett, Lilly, Capuano, Harang, and Grienke.like delv, but better

Thanks to the Dodgers we're getting an idea of what the Yankees spending would be if they didn't shelter revenues through YES

Re: Greinke and Dodgers expected to agree to 6/145M deal soon
The Dodgers are going to pay a 17.5% tax rate this upcoming season and also paid a 25M posting fee for Ryu. Including that and any future roster moves, the amount of money they will spend on their 40 man roster in 2013 could approach 300M

That's assuming they sign Ryu. If they don't the fee is returned.

If this was the Yankees, tomorrow's headlines would be about how they were ruining the game.
Since it's someone else, I imagine the narrative will be something along the lines of "baseball is making a huge comeback".27 World Championships
