If you really all just want to assume that Sabathia, Kuroda, Hughes can get it done in the playoffs again, exactly the way they did this past year, then by all means do so.

Kuroda and Pettitte are both another year older. Hughes, come on, let's face it, he is NOT reliable. Neither was Nova at the end of the season, and we don't know exactly what Phelps will be in his sophomore year.

You need 2 or more ACES to win the world series. We have 1 right now, and possibly another in Kuroda, but that's a very big IF with age factored in.

Of course this entire discussion is moot because we can't score runs against good pitching anyway.

What teams have 3-4 Aces? I'd feel good going into next season with CC, Kuroda, Pettitte, Hughes, Nova and Phelps and Pineda around the ASB

Yeah, CC, Felix, Verlander, Kuroda, Pettitte/Hughes/Nova/Phelps/Pineda would be nice, but umm.. so would a lineup with Fielder, Cabrera, Trout and Pujols added to it.
