2013 World Baseball Classic Thread
Another World Baseball Classic tournament is upon us in March 2013.
Will Japan go for a three-peat? Will Japan and South Korea be in the finals again? Will the United States march to the final? Will Cuba and Dominican Republic go deeper in the tournament?
Who will be the mega sleeper like the Netherlands in 2009?
http://web.worldbaseballclassic.com/index.jspIt's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.

Despite the topic, I feel as though this thread would be better suited for the "other sports" forum.

Re: 2013 World Baseball Classic Thread
I see that some teams already have rosters but is that for games going forward as well? Or were those for the teams that have been playing to qualify?
I'm pretty excited about this!

It's already been announced that Jeter won't be able to play because of the ankle injury:

I don't want CC to go either. He needs the rest.

Again, I'd rather see ZERO Yankees on any roster except that of the New York Yankees.
Welcome to NYYFans, the place where Yankees fans come together to complain about the manner in which our team is winning games.

Re: 2013 World Baseball Classic Thread
I'm ecstatic to see my adopted country (Brasil) qualify for the WBC). It sounds like it was quite a match against top-seeded Panama. Linky.
With only one MLB player (Yan Gomes), I can't really hope for them to go through in a Group with PR, DR and Venezuela, but I look forward to seeing them try. I hope the fans turn out."Deep to left! Yastrzemski will not get it! It's a home run! A three-run homer by Bucky Dent! And the Yankees now lead by a score of 3-2!" - New York Yankees announcer Bill White (October 2, 1978)
