Quote of the series came from my friend: "I learned something about nature this week. Panda's apparently eat Tigers. Maybe that's why they're endangered..."
Mariano Rivera was so great he was able to close a Denny's.

Verlander is great against AL hitting. Against NL pitching, just look at the ASB. When you don't know the other league's lineup, it's a whole 'nother story.

On the other hand ... I thought the Yankees were handicapped by not having ANY time off between Game Five of the division series and Game One of the ALCS. So, you can't win.

At least, the Yankees and then the Tigers couldn't!

Only crocs eat tigers. Those are some ferocious hunters. Plus they can swim.

The Tigers' LDS also started a day earlier than did the Yanks', so the handicap came beforehand.

If the Yanks had won their LDS a game earlier, then we could've used CC vs Verlander, rather than waiting until Game 4, when he was basically spent from too many innings.

Oh, and Phil Coke is the LP. I guess that Joe Torre must be smiling, seeing how he tried his hardest to get Coke outta here (putting a LH specialist vs A-Rod was insane).

If the Yankees had won the ALDS in four, they would have started CC in Game One of the ALCS against Fister. And if CC had pitched the way he did in Game Five of the ALDS ... well, who knows what might have happened.

I'm pretty excited to see the Yankees play the Giants next season in interleague. Obviously, it won't be the same as this postseason would have been, given roster changes and whatnot, but it should be pretty interesting.

I think that Game 4 of the LDS was when Girardi didn't replace A-Rod and someone else w/Chavez and Ibanez, who hit the HR the night before. This when we've got runners at 1B & 2B. Then Girardi only puts in Ibanez AFTER we're down by a run and he has to hit ANOTHER HR to tie the game.
