Maybe they're taking pitches they should be putting good swings on though, just for the sake of being patient.

I don't think they were being particularly patient this postseason. Granted I don't have data to back this up but I distinctly recall our hitters routinely swinging at bad pitches. They were just flat out missing the ball.

Clippard, Robertson, Aceves, Melancon, Ramon Ramirez, Coke, Phelps...Have all had success as ML relievers

Hughes, Kennedy, Chamberlain, Nova, McAllister have all had success as ML starters

Vizcaino and Banuelos are far from busts...

Cole, Storen, Fister, Bard are also technically draft selections under Cashman

Kontos and Garcia had a lot of success in small samples this year

Its been far from a perfect job, but lets stop acting like there has been no success over the past 10 years.

Because producing top-flight starters when picking so late in the draft nearly every year is something that's to be expected. Hughes and Joba could have been those guys, but they never lived up to the hype. Cole could have been it, but he didn't sign.

lol i think you forgot your own point. The ability to draft and develop pitching is what you called into question. I never said any of those starters were studs, but I don't see how Cashman can be blamed for Joba and Hughes regressing.

How many prospects come through MLB a year? How many turn out to be "front line starters?"

Keep in mind, your definition of front-line starter seems to be a perennial CY contender.
