Three way trade, M's get Morse, trade John Jaso to the A's, A's trade AJ Cole to the Nats.

Curious to see what the Mariners wind up giving up for Morse. Cashman's RH options are dwindling. Nevermind, I just saw. Yanks couldn't top that? Then again, Jaso is better than any catcher Yanks have right now.

Well the Nats didn't get Jaso, they got A.J. Cole.

EDIT: It's not done yet, apparently the Nats get another good prospect and a PTBNL.

I know your post was prior to the trade and players involved, but I'm not sure I'd call John Jaso "premium."

Seems like Zduriencik owns Cashman, doesn't it?

Plus it looks like Nats also get a PTBNL and a 'good' prospect.

Don't worry guys, Carlos Lee is still available, and with Hal's commitment to winning, we definitely have a million or two left t throw at him

Just waiting for Upton to land with Texas now... It would be the perfect end to this off-season

Cashman must be waiting for the price for Juan Rivera and Ben Francisco to drop.

One way to look at it: It's another team out of the JUPTON derby. Rangers and Braves probably have the better prospects...but hey never know if the Yanks could sweeten the deal somehow.

    I doubt it, though.

Jaso would have been a nice pickup for the Yankees, dude hits RHP really well and walks a ton.

I wouldve been willing to give the Nats something equavalent to Cole and Jaso combined and then some straight up for Morse...this off season sucks.

Jaso isn't a backup catcher, I would of traded Granderson for him and a B prospect.

A 29 year old catcher who suddenly had a breakout year in 2012 in barely 100 games played?

Expect the Yankees to pick up George Kottaras in three...two...one...

Where the heck are they planning to play Morse?

    Morales
    Morse
    Ibanez
    Smoak
    Montero

All should be playing 1B or DH, though I guess trading Jaso signals they're going to roll with Montero at catcher

Not looking good for Smoak, is it?

    Don't forget Bay.

So it'll be a platoon of Ibanez/Bay in LF, Morales or Morse at DH and the other at 1B, and Montero at C.

    Yikes defensively.
