If Lincecum remembers how to pitch the Giants are going to win; but I'm rooting for the boys from Ohio.

This is what the higher seed has to do, take the first game on the road and immediately put a stranglehold on the series.

All of the sudden the lower seed has one remaining home game and they have to win three out of four.

    My avatar? Aye-aye-aye-aye-aye.
It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.

For all the crap that Dusty Baker gets, I think he has done a hell of a job managing tonite's game.

Yeah... if Reds win, AND Cueto is fine so can pitch game 3, this may work out better for Cincinnati than if he didn't get hurt

I posted before the game was over. Obviously, things could change in the next 2 innings but, I was just commenting on what he had done until then.

Impressive job by the Reds bullpen going 8 2/3 IP, allowing two runs, one off a Buster Posey solo shot off the first pitch from Mat Latos in the 6th and a wild pitch from Alrodis Chapman in the 9th.

First time since Game 3 of the 1995 NLDS vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers that the Cincinnati Reds earned a postseason victory.

Was I the only one who was baffled by Dusty's decision to pull Arroyo after 91 pitches? Why waste any part of your bullpen when you're up by 9? Obviously I'm biased here, but I also wanted to punch Baker in his ................ing face. And why have him bat if you're going to pull him?

This is no surprise, but Dusty Baker is an idiot.

There are certain managers whose moves just baffle me, and he's one. Ron Washington is a real winner too.

Re: NLDS: Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants

Obviously the situation isn't dire or anything having only needing to win 1 of the next 3 at home, but the Reds really kinda need a win today for the rotation to get rested and allow time for Cueto to heal.

They left Leake off the postseason roster and Latos pitched Game 1. Who would even go in Game 4?

And to add, Cueto appears to be gone.

    @johnfayman
Cueto has a mild oblique strain. Not good news. #reds

Latos only pitched about 4 innings right? Seems like he would be good to go in game 4.

Also Cueto has an oblique strain. They can remove him and add Leake for a G5 start but that would mean losing Cueto for the NLCS.

Outside of Posey and Pence the Giants bats seem to be cold.

Lincecum being used as a reliever.

I'll link to an article here, because I think he responded to the "demotion" extremely well.

Zito's actually been better than Lincecum. Timmy was awful this year.

I look forward to seeing what happens to him as a free agent. He's been miserable in that division/park, I don't see why he'd improve elsewhere.

Yeah. Unless he's been injured and recovers in the offseason, his size may just have finally caught up with him.
