That said, I'd have ridden Strasburg this year myself and worry about next year, next year.

If I was a Nats fan, I'd feel much more confident with Starsburg on the hill tomorrow than Detwiler, that's for sure.
I asked earlier if they were gonna regret shutting down straz and i think they are.

Nationals need to get the offense going, they've been struggling a bit the last month of the season. Does not bode well for a short series

He has his momments. He's basically been a league average picther for most of his career but he does look good at times. He'll probably be an over paid innings eater fro someone next year. Not unlike this year really.

Even when he no-hit the Rays it was ugly he walked something like 8 guys and hit a batter as well.

I kind of see Ivan Nova becoming Edwin Jackson.

Of course they are. They may not admit it publicly but there is no question they would be a more dangerous team with Strasburg in the rotation this postseason.

Their pitching as a whole has been disappointing so far this postseason. Things aren't looking too good for them.

They're also being very Yankees-esque in the number of people they're leaving on base.

Even if they do lose this series, I think they're going to be around for a while now, so I wouldn't feel too bad for them. They have a really good team.

I find it strange in 08 the Rays kids did so well but the Nats seem to be crumpling under the pressure.

Well, Davey Johnson is going to have to do some serious rallying because the Nats are going to be facing elimination tomorrow evening

Would be a great time to have, ya know, a great pitcher throwing, right?
    Maybe like Strasburg?

I agree that him being out is pure stupidity and an epic failure in roster planning, but that the Nats season is going to come down to hitting, not pitching

No way. Cards are a sub 500 team on the road. Series is far from over. If it reaches game 5, nationals win.

Anybody have the Nats win splits for afternoon games this season? Maybe they play better at night. Too bad for them their elimination game tomorrow is at 4 pm

Absolutely. Tomorrow may look like a mismatch, but the cards have th uncanny ability to make a pitcher with a 5 or more ERA look like Juan Marichal. Nationals win tomorrow and I like their chances with Gonzalez on the hill.
