Roger Clemens is slated to pitch for the Houston-area Sugar Land Skeeters next weekend.

Clemens' rotation-mates will include ex-MLBers Scott Kazmir, Tim Redding and pitcher-outfielder Jason Lane. Rumors around Houston suggest that whichever of those four looks the best over the next two weeks will get a shot with the fightin' Astros in September. And if it's Clemens, his Hall of Fame eligibility will be delayed until (at least!) 2018.

Are you sure? I thought I remembered Warren Spahn's eligibility got pushed back a few years because he played some minor league games in 1966 and 1967. Spahn didn't make the HOF until 1973 even though his last MLB game was 1965 and he was a no-brainer HOFer.

Rickey Henderson played Minor League ball after his last Major League game and it did not affect his eligibility.
Personally I think it is absurd for a 50 year old to be pitching in professional baseball. Of course it may mean I still have a chance at 55.
It reminds me of a radio interview with hockey great Gordie Howe, who came out of retirement to play with his sons and was still going at 50. The interviewer asked Howe when he will retire. Howe responded "When I'm eligible for Social Security"
