Let's face it-- it's not what we were expecting from Jones vs LHers.

Last year against LHers he batted .286/ .384/ .540/ .923.

That was supposed to be his role.

2009 he was on the DL to begin the season he drew non IBB walks 2.2% of his plate appearances until he collected his 200th hit. After which is non IBB % reverted to around his career norm which is 4.1%. This all for a team that was in reach of a WC at the first of August. Go figure why there were reports of Mariner teammates disliking him to the point of wanting to inflict violence upon him.

To each his own. Maybe my standards are a bit too unrealistic, but a .225 average and a .279 OBP is far from average.

Jones is far better against both LHP & RHP.

When he collected his 2000th hit, it was at the end of the season (Sept) and he had a .362BA and .392OBP. I don't think he was hurting the team by not taking walks.
A fool and his money can throw one heck of a party!

They probably wanted to kick his ass for making the rest of them look bad.

It's not, but he's been serviceable.

And the year is not over. I remember the horrible start he got off to and then he went on a tear. Jones is pretty streaky.

That's precisely what the Seattle press and fans said... until 2 weeks ago.
