Re: Let's Go NEW YORK RANGERS! 2012-2013
If this goes through its high way robbery. Imagine if we can somehow get Doan as well. We would be beyond stacked all the way through the lineup.

Steal for the Rangers though on a personal level I'm slightly disappointed that we lose Dubinsky, only because of a connection between some of his family members and mine.

I would think having Richards, Nash, & Kreider with Gaborik coming back will make it that much easier to sell Doan on coming to NY.

Sather does it again. High way robbery.
How stupid does Howson look? He had a better deal at the deadline. smh.

Columbus ADDED to the deal and still couldn't get Kreider or Stephan?
Congrats guys, you definitely robbed Howson on this one.

Wow, Howson is being ripped on some CBJ forums. Good job by Sather in keeping some key young players.
Is it true Sather is interested in Semin also?“I would like to take the great Di Maggio fishing....They say his father was a fisherman. Maybe he was as poor as we are and would understand.”

Re: Let's Go NEW YORK RANGERS! 2012-2013
Everything I've read indicates that he is NOT interested in Semin.
Seems like Nash+Doan was the blueprint and that is probably the best way to go right now.
We do need another defenseman. Its one thing if Sauer comes back but I really do not want to go a full season with Stu Bickel as a 3rd pairing fixture.

Don't know how any Ranger fan can be anything other than ecstatic about this deal, unless they think Dubi will suddenly blossom into an elite goal scorer.

Re: Let's Go NEW YORK RANGERS! 2012-2013
Ecstatic ?
I don't see what the big deal is about this trade. Nash gets a bit more points then Dubi, but
he's no game changer. Rangers need two more strong scoring forwards before they have
any chance of going deep in the playoffs. Having an injury prone Gaborik and very little
after that is no reason to be excited.[

Re: Let's Go NEW YORK RANGERS! 2012-2013
Sather absolutely schooled Howson during this whole process. Wow. You have to wonder how that idiot still has a job. Hopefully this helps sell Doan on NY....if we can get Doan, then I definetly feel we can win a Cup next year although we could still use some more depth on the back line.

Re: Let's Go NEW YORK RANGERS! 2012-2013
Stop picking on me

I didnt expect Howson to come down from his demands...I figured he would stay up in the clouds....he looks like a complete tool right now. If he was even just slightly more reasonable at the deadline, he could have ended up landing more then what he did today.
Whatever though, we benefit from it. I dont understand how any Rangers fans who dont like this trade (and there are some of them out there). "OMG its a huge cap hit! Dubinsky will bounce back next year!". Yeah the cap hit is huge, but for christ sakes we're trying to win a Cup next year. We'll probably hear the same whining if we sign Doan. Sometimes you have to go for it. I'm confident they have a plan to handle the cap when things get a bit sticky in a year or two. Dubinsky? What if he didnt bounce back? AA was an enigma. He might be one of those guys who teases you at times but cant bring it consistently. Considering we went from hearing names like Kreider, McD, Stepan etc. to what we actually gave up....its crazy to me how someone can hate this deal. We gave up minimal talent for an elite offensive player. This was our main weakness last year, and IMO was our only real obstacle left to being a complete team that could bring home a championship.
