Yes, you can work for the greatest sports team on Earth. Just not as the Travelling Secretary.

Rivera appeared in Connecticut on Saturday morning to conduct a pitching clinic with about 150 children at the Frozen Ropes baseball academy.
The three-hour event was attended by some students from Sandy Hook Elementary School in nearby Newtown, where a gunman killed 26 and wounded two on the morning of Dec. 14.
"We didn't try to get into it," he said. "We just tried to run it smooth and make sure they were comfortable. There were a few kids from there, and we want to make sure we made them feel comfortable and not try to treat them differently. I think that was for the best."
Rivera worked with the children on their leg lifts, arm slots and follow-throughs, nodding with approval when his instructions produced strikes, and patiently offering hints that might improve their performance in the upcoming Little League seasons.
Standing less than 15 miles from the site of the shootings, however, Rivera said it was difficult for him not to think about those events.
"When you have something like that and think about children, kids, I think the whole nation, the whole world, felt that," he said. "Not just the United States, but the whole world. It was a disaster, it definitely was, so all we have to do is pray."
The mood was considerably lighter with his laughing, chatty audience. Following the pitching clinic, Rivera fielded questions from the kids, saying in response to one query that he enjoys this side of the teaching process and that he hopes to continue instructing young players long after his retirement.
"I want to teach the little ones, because it's a long road from the Minor Leagues," he said. "That's where my passion is. I want to make sure those guys have enough guidance."

Retired Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has had conversations with both Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner about working as an instructor at spring training next month. But he says he does not want to move into any on-field role full time, at this point.
“I want to be home,” Posada said. “I don’t want to be traveling like I was all this time. I’m settled. I’m happy. The kids are growing. I want to be there for them. Maybe later. Maybe.”
And no, he says he has no plans to return to the field, despite the team’s lack of a front-line starting catcher.

Jeter weighs in on global warming, says his ankle is "fine":
http://www.dispatch.com/content/stor...l-warming.html
“I was in New York for Hurricane Sandy,” the New York Yankees shortstop told The Dispatch yesterday. “It’s just something that’s gotten so much attention. Regardless of how you feel about it, it’s something that needs to be addressed because we’re seeing more and more natural disasters each year, it seems like. Something has to be causing it.”But Jeter, captain of one of the most recognizable and successful sports franchises in the world, said he doesn’t try to interject himself into politics.
“I know my place,” said Jeter, who played parts of two seasons with the triple-A Columbus Clippers when they were part of the Yankees organization.
Jeter, a guest of his sponsor Pepsi this week, is among the A-list stars outside of politics and business to descend upon Davos. Actress Charlize Theron is here; others are sure to arrive.
Jeter said “it’s an honor” to attend the forum, calling it “the biggest business conference in the world” and an opportunity “I jumped at” when Pepsi invited him.
One quick baseball note: Jeter said his broken left ankle, suffered during last year’s playoffs, is “fine” and “getting better.” He was recently cleared to resume baseball activities.

Berra not on Yanks' list of spring instructors
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- The director of the Yogi Berra Museum says the Hall of Fame catcher is not going to Spring Training with the New York Yankees because the 87-year-old's travel is limited.
David Kaplan said in an email Monday that Berra's heath was pretty good and that Berra plans on attending games at Yankee Stadium. Berra lives in New Jersey.
Berra's name was not listed among the guest instructors for Yankees camp. Several employees at George M. Steinbrenner Field said no locker was set aside for Berra's use.

Looks like the 2013 Yankee slogan is "A Timeless Legacy" as per the header at Yankees.com
Maybe they ditched the sepia retro theme and went for maybe a blue ticket scheme?
I did like "Pride, Power, Pinstripes" the best. Just not sure we need a new one every year.**** The skeptic of skeptics ****
