I saw that yesterday and I could hear the theme from Jaws playing in my head. I'll take the rip tide for $200, Alex.
Can't even begin to imagine.......

Re: Kayaker given incentive to row faster
Somewhat related. But is it wrong that I find this scary yet hilarious at the same time?

Re: Kayaker given incentive to row faster
So it turned out that this almost certainly wasn't a Great White, but a harmless basking shark that pretty much only eats plankton:

Ha! What an idiot for running away! Doesn't he know his sharks?-Kevin

Re: Kayaker given incentive to row faster
I just find the whole scenario so awesome...it also looks just like where we've stayed in that area (Myrtle Beach) before.
The girl is just casually reeling in the fish, the redneck-y dudes yammering, one with Crocs and then they all start screamin' and cussin'....fun all around.

Re: Kayaker given incentive to row faster
There seem to be more shark sightings/attacks this year all over the place. I don't know if the mild winter and early summer weather we got have anything to do with it. The shark exhibit they had at the Aquarium in Baltimore about 25 years ago still gives me goosebumps when I recall it. Seeing them swim right up to your nose with only a pane of glass between you is scary and cool at the same time.

Re: Kayaker given incentive to row faster

Stolen from my niece's FB page. Fin is actually an orca a.k.a killer whale. Alison runs a kayak tour company in Homer, Alaska. Very cool lady.
