The whole concept of competitve eating just bothers me period. There are people who go to bed hungry. I know they'd still be hungry if there was no such thing as seeing how much food you can shove in your stomach in 10 munutes.

That said, I would barf if I had to eat any bread soaked in water.

The whole thing is a major promo for Nathan's. Getting ESPN to foot the bill is kraut on top of the hot dob (like ocong on the cake).

There are the very wealthy who go yacht racing, and who own multiple homes, some of which go unused for consecutive months, and in cities where many are homeless.

I consider this mostly entertainment, even if crudely done. I was there around 2009 or so. At 10am, the line goes about 10-15 rows deep. Nathans' marketing team knows what it's doing. In health-conscious times, this is one thing whose time has not passed.

The thing about that pic is that, while it's not a totally accurate description of what actually happened (soggy buns, etc), the way those guys are going at the hot dobs, is definitely accurate as to what people THINK happened.

Sean Delonas is always outrageous in his editorial pix (he definitely "GOES THERE"), and has been for many years.

Admittedly, one of my least favorite ones, but then again, SD has had a lot to "say" about one certain "marriage" issue that took up lots of bandwidth in the PS (including thoughts on the willing participants).

I see that you've saved some SD pix, so let's just return to the Hot Dob thread and let the PS posts go by the wayside. The SD pic that I'd posted was about Hot Dibbity Dobs, not the electoral and/or social politicking.
