I don't know about this most recent minor league outing, but in Phelps' last start for the Yankees (when he fanned 8 in 4 1/3 innings) he got 6 of them via the fastball. I'm not sure the velocity or movement have really changed that much, but maybe his location has just been much better.

Refsnyder is joining the Charleston Riverdogs. I don't remember a player drafted by the Yankees, reporting directly to a full season team, the same year he was drafted. Not directly without getting promoted from a short season club. Can anybody remember otherwise? What it tells me is that they think he is an advanced hitter.
