I thought for sure a month ago he was going to be promoted. I wonder what the thought process behind leaving him in A ball is.

Why hasn't Austin played the past 2 games in Tampa? Blocked by the OF jam?

No Yankees in this week's Baseball America Hot Sheet. Bichette was one of four on the not so hot list. Mesa was written up as Man among Boys.

What do you make of Gary Sanchez's promotion? Think he'll stay at catcher? He seems to be an offensive weapon, which includes stolen bases this year. When do you see him in the majors?
Ben Badler: Gary Sanchez having 12 stolen bases might be more surprising than Billy Hamilton having 100. That dude is slow, but he does have a great arm and he knows what he's doing at the plate. But I'm not sold that he's going to stick at catching, both because of the receiving and the body, and in that case I'm not sure if he's going to hit enough to be an everyday first baseman. He could stick back there, but there are real concerns from scouts (and have been for some time) about whether he will.

he's more flexible than montero... i have a feeling the yankees see sanchez as more of a posada situation (below average but passable D) than montero ever was

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder how many times these BA guys actually see guys like Sanchez because those that have seen him a number of times have said Sanchez is pretty athletic for a catcher. He's a former 3rd baseman.
Okay Hal and Brian, I might be a sucker, but you got 3 more years to fix it!

I was told by a thunder beat writer that he's a "high 80s command guy"

Plus I can't take a baseball website seriously when they have Personality Ratings & Morale on the player page.

    Leader Ability
    Greed
    Loyalty

    wtf?

Now that I look more closely at the site, it appears to be a baseball sim game webpage.

They have Mo announcing his retirement, Kyle Drabek on the Twins, Miguel Cabrera with the Rangers...I could go on.

Marshall out after four innings (69 pitches). Hope he's not hurt badly.

    Mike Ashmore ‏@mashmore98

Brett Marshall is OK. It was what I thought, getting him ready for the All-Star Game in four days.
