Re: It Don't Come Easy: The 1978 New York Yankees

Thanks so much for these links! Way back in the late 1980's/early 1990's they played this during a rain delay.

Thanks for that. Baseball back then was a lot different to how it is now.

Though I must admit I found the Star Wars music pretty random.
40 pitchers, ever, have an ERA+ of 130 or higher for their career. 15 have 140 or higher. 3 guys have 150 or higher - one is right at 150, the second place guy is at 154, and Mariano Rivera is at 205.

Thanks for taking me back. Felt like I was 10 years old again. Nothing like that team, the drama or that comeback. Unmatched cast of characters.

The 1961, 1978 & 1996 were the best baseball seasons I've ever witnessed. Of course, in my Yankee bias.
Roger Maris = single season "natural" home-run record-holder.

Not a good job out of you. A GREAT job out of you.

I was in second grade in 1978. On Monday, october 2, my father unexpectedly walked into my class, whispered something to my teacher, pointed at me and told me to get my stuff. We went home and watched the game on a little 17 inch black and white tv.

Yankee fan for life after that...
