Re: Summer Olympics Basketball Thread - London 2012
With Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose and Chris Bosh injured, I think this will be the U.S. team that is going to London 2012.
Starting Five
C: Tyson Chandler
PF: LeBron James
SF: Kevin Durant
SG: Kobe Bryant
PG: Chris Paul
Bench
Backup C: Kevin Love
Backup Fs: Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Carmelo Anthony
Backup Gs: Deron Williams, Andre Iguodala and Russell Westbrook
Tough choice between Iguodala, James Harden and Eric Gordon for me at guard behind Kobe, CP3, D-Will and Westbrook, but I like Iguodala's defense.
As for forwards, Lamar Odom was a key player in the 2010 team, but he hasn't had a season to convince Jerry Colangelo and Coach K that he should be on the team. It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
