It got under Suzyn Waldman's skin, too. She really got on the fans for The Wave in general and that 1-0, 3rd inning wave in particular. John agreed with her, because he doesn't like mindless shtick that distracts from baseball.

To prepare us for his swinging at a 3-0 pitch a couple of innings later...

Suzyn and John made me laugh, they were so disgusted!

Suzyn: The noise you hear is this wave nonsense! I guess the fans are bored!
John: We don't think it's right!!!

If anyone's entitled to a bad game it's Chavez. He has played very well and gotten more than his share of clutch hits.

Was that supposed to be irony?

If WCBS can find a sponsor, she will do a complete 180.

John, the wave is starting again, it is so beautiful watching it travel around another packed house.

And Suzyn, speaking of waves, if you can;t catch the wave at the stadium, you can catch a wave at Beaches resorts.....

Uhh, no...unless you mean the corrupt internet-accepted definition of irony. It certainly was an intentional attempt at humor at JS's expense. If there is irony, it is JS criticizing the Wave, but I had nothing to do with that. I may have highlighted it a bit.

I took a walk around the stadium during the game Saturday and I was standing right behind Section 236 when a group attempted to start the wave. They were all (a) under 25 (b) drunk (c) wearing Red Sox gear and (d) not watching the game. In other words, typical Red Sox fans.

    Sweet Caroline was next.

I hate the wave as much as anybody, but accept it in other stadiums. What bothers me is the last few games I saw where it happened the Yankees (home team)were at bat, the game was close and the Yankees were in position to score. It was the exact opposite of a situation where I would expect to see a wave in another ballpark.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Yes, I meant Sterling's reaction to the wave.

I was at the game last Thursday afternoon with my 2 sons and the Yanks were up with runners on and the wave was going on. I was in Sec 202 and no one does the wave out there.

    please ban the wave
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
