    Exactly.

They've got 7+ mill tied up in Prust, Moen and Bourque. None of them come off the books anytime soon.

They still need to lock up Eller, Subban and Price. You can bet that those three will total 10+ mill in raises (Price is going to get an absurd contract in salary.)

After that and the high probability that the cap is dropping, the Habs may actually be over the cap after the new CBA.

Sabres trade Derek Roy for Steve Ott and Pardy. Barely legal women of Chippewa are now safe.

    That would be great.

As a Rangers fan I really don't want him staying in the Atlantic division. I hope he winds up in Chicago, or Minnesota.

I'm tired of Detroit being good. With the departure of Lidstrom I'm hoping for a down year from them. I know it won't happen, but I can dream right? I'd rather him go to a Detroit rival.

    Re: Official NHL 2012-2013 Thread

There a small chance that Detroit ends up with both Suter and Parise.

That'll do a lot to quell the worries about a Red Wings collapse for a few years.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. I can finally get a Parise jersey. 1) I love the red Wild jerseys and 2) My last name is Parisi - close enough.

Twin 13 year deals...that's ridiculous. Hope it works out for them and they take over that division from Vancouver and the conference from Detroit.

In other news, did you see Dallas gave Jagr 4.55 million?! What are they thinking?

    Re: Official NHL 2012-2013 Thread

You wanted a down year for Detroit and you may get your wish, they're in a world of trouble.

I think Suter will play well enough to justify the salary but Parise I see being Drury pt 2 times 13 years. Maybe he is able to stay productive for 4-5 seasons, but after that the deal will look ugly. Minnesota has a boat load of high end prospects on the way, things are looking good for them.

Also one year deal for Jagr and they got money to spend. I wouldn't touch Jagr because he was completely gassed the last quarter of the season + playoffs, but I thought it was a nice little gamble or them.

Yeah things dont historically work out wellnwhen teams sign two top free agents together.

As for Jagr, I guess its a good risk but I thoyght Dallas was doing a full on youth movement.
