I realize that, which is awesome for the Rangers. However my post was in regards to the Bruins.

Unfortunately, most Bruins fans I talk to hate this about him, which makes me start to think Bluecountry may have been right about Bruins fans.

Although I'm a little confused as to why they haven't shown more interest in Schultz. We fit all of his criteria, or at least as much as any other American team.
Most UFA signings end up being pretty bad. Outside of the odd big name that actually makes it to UFA or an older stop gap/vet, I think its smart to stay away from UFA.

For instance, I think Suter is totally worth giving the money too, Parise not so much. I'd much rather give a 1-2 year deal to Ray Whtiney before signing Parise for the next decade, even though Whitney is 40.

What does your D look like for next year? Rangers are the lone american team to make the cut for Schultz (Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver are the other 4.)

I read somewhere Shane Doan is going to test free agency. He's only 35. I'd take him for 2 years.

He'd be #1 on my UFA forward list if I thought he'd be willing to come out East.

If the Coyotes don't get this ................ sorted out by when ever that deadline is, I can't see him Signing too far from Phoenix. San Jose makes alot of sense.

I don't know how the Leafs are on the list. Per the rumors, he wants a contending team. They haven't made the playoffs since 04.
I consider the Sens a borderline contending team. They could easily miss the playoffs next year. They're no different than Winnipeg. imo.

I'm surprised at Toronto as well, the Canadian left coast has a tendency to despise the Ontario portions and the Maple Leafs in particular.

I don't think he goes to Toronto. Its possible that he is meeting with them out of respect for the man who was in charge of the Ducks when he was drafted. They're the worst spot for him out of the 5 teams IMO.

As for Ottawa, they drafted and developed a 22 year old Norris Trophy winning defense man, that has to be pretty attractive for Schultz. They've done a pretty god job integrating youth into their line up, not a bad option IMO.

But he won't see the PP time that he wants since Karlsson is a RH shooter. I don't think he'll end up going there because of that.

Pens set to sign Crosby for probably 12/$100M. Smart move? I don't know how they could not sign him, but he's missed more than half of the past two seasons and is a hit away from retirement. I wonder what kind of clauses they have in there to protect themselves. Although as a Rangers fan, I hope this blows up in their faces. I hate that franchise.

    12 years/104.4 mill. 8.7 mill cap hit.

IF he gets hit into oblivion he can retire and the contract will come off the books. Geno will probably sign for the same amount but guys like Letang will be looking for a big raise next go around.

If they go after a Parise or Suter, they'll be tying up more than half the cap in 4-5 players. That will not end well.

I guess that's a win-win for Crosby and the team. You know if he's forced in to retirement he'll get a FO job immediately. Won't be making $8.7 a year, but he's set for life.

Cap is going to $70.2M this year. The floor will be $55.2 then right?

God I hope they don't get Suter.

54.2 actually, and it'll almost definitely change when they sign the new CBA.
