hmmm... maybe it's not. What was predicted was a huge change. Maybe it's Bryce Harper being traded to the Yankees.
Thank you, 2013-2014 New York Rangers for a great season!

You could be right. As long as they don't give up Nunez in the deal...he's got potential.

If one will sign with the Yankees when he hits FA (at his prime, not 36), who would you prefer?

    Harper or Trout?

    Get it. You prefer Harper.

Joining the Yankees or not, just wonder who will have a better career.

I actually just think it's a bad question

Who should we sign to a long-term extension, Gary Sanchez or Mason Williams?

What is at about Harper that rankles the Braves and other competition? He seems to get hit an awful lot.

maybe I haven't seen enough of his in-game or post-game actions to give an informed opinion, but I don't see it. He seems confident and a bit cocky, but if everyone that met that criteria got beaned as often as him...

This is what I'm curious about though... what actions/behaviors lead you to say this?

Right now, Trout is the better player - by a TON. If they both stay healthy, Trout might be the best player we ever see....he has a real chance to be an immortal.

    "That's a clown post, dude" ...

Clearly his "anointedness" rankles. I'm sure there are young players as cocky as he but none of them have been put on his media-driven pedestal. You can say "He didn't ask for that" but remember, many of his opponents are only a few years older, asking them to make that kind of wise distinction ... good luck widdat.

so young, heralded players deserved to get beaned relentlessly and without really directly provoking it?

That's the stupidity of it. Remember how pathetic people were when Joba celebrated strikeouts....players don't like it when a young guys comes around, plays well and shows enthusiasm.

If I had a choice Id probably pick Trout over Harper, although Harper might be better in the long term. Harper is having a down year, but that happens with sophomore major leaguers. Another reason for not signing the guy, his level of self love may be a BIT too high.

Why do you say Harper is having a down year? His wRC+ is 140 compared to 121 last year and his OBP and slugging are higher

The way teams are dealing with their commodities these days it'll be a small miracle if Harper even makes it to free agency. My bet is the Nats lock him up the winter before his final arbitration year (2016) and sign him to a massive 8-10 year deal taking him through his age 33 season. Then the Yankees will be free to sign him for his decline like they always do.

I don't know about that. The Expos (er, Nationals) are 2013's most disappointing team. They might be rethinking their whole way of thinking.
    Whatever you think...
    Well, you're wrong.
