The deal was offered to me, unprompted; although Milone and Lester have earned the same number of points to date, I'm betting that Lester will be more valuable going forward, and Fielder for Teheran is a fairly classic keeper for star swap. GwW are presumably happy to get up to 3 more years of Milone, who, in fairness, has had a pretty useful rookie campaign, and aren't as certain that Lester is healthy/likely to rebound.

I think before the start of the year, this trade might look unbalanced in my favor; as we're now 2.5 months in, I think deal looks a lot closer, particularly given Lester's underachievement so far (and Boston looking like they might not be obvious contenders down the stretch . . .)

Pretty straight forward deal..not sure what you are not seeing.

It's no secret I have been shopping both of these guys for weeks.

Lester although has two CG has underperformed and as I am rebuilding looking for decent pitchers as keepers..which most people are not willing to part with. I am Happy to get Milone for Lester.

Sax offered me Teheran for Fielder couple of weeks ago.. I said no.. but my team as my team continues to go south, I got what I desired.

Teheran is the #1 mlb prospect

and a valuable pitcher. More so than Shelby Miller or Bauer because he was not drafted in the Major League Darft thus I can stash him in the minors until he is prime.

Trout is putting up better numbers than Fielder. Hellickson is my second best starter. There is no comparison to this deal. Maybe in 3 years....just not right now.

On the outside, without any in depth analysis I see no issue with this trade especially after reading Brian's comments and Ben's. At this point if someone is looking for keepers it is okay, enough time has passed to figure out if you're in it or not. Teheran is as good a rookie keeper that is left after Moore, Trout, Trumbo, and Harper are all full time players now, I didn't even need the link to know that, I think that knowledge is pretty much out there. I believe Sax got the better of the deal here, but not so much that it causes any imbalance to the league. Teheran's value was definitely maximized. And since Brian approached Ben with the offer, I see no sign of ripping anyone off.

If it reaches my desk, obviously I will look into it in depth. But that's my "on the surface" opinion.

Of course I did. Those guys are the backbone of this team and still under control for 2 & 3 years. You weren't going to settle for Zimmerman. I didn't have the pieces available to get those guys. I just think that the trade is rather skewed as is which is why I vetoed. We also discussed something else and I think that could have been done in this case as well. Just expressing my opinion. I know the trade will go through and to be honest, I am very happy these guys aren't coming to the Gehrig division.

sour grapes people. You can't deny a trade just because your trade offers didn't work out or you feel like you could've came up with a better offer after the fact. Could the woodies have gotten more for a Lester/Fielder combo ? maybe ? I would have liked to seen Harrison in this deal instead of Milone...Nonetheless he got two solid keepers that he liked/wanted (he proposed the trade offer) including one of the top young pitchers in the league in Teheran (even tho hes been up and down at AAA/MLB, the kid is only 21. The Legends improve their team for a playoff push, sure. But do they become so good that they will make the league unfair ? No. Approved.

I will spend this evening looking at the trade and thinking about it for a day or so. It's father's day so I'm spending it with my kids if that's okay with everyone here. I am thinking about it now, I just can't do much in depth analysis.

This is going to suck because I see both sides. I will also consult with Eric on the matter and Ben will be left out of it since he is involved.
