Re: 2012 Hot Stove/ Trade Rumors...
Would have liked Garza. But, let's be serious here. Our pitching is not the problem. Let's say we got Josh Johnson or Josh Beckett and every time they pitch they end up losing because they gave up one run then what?
Seriously, our problem right now is really our hitting. I wouldn't wanna trade anyone to Boston for Beckett anyway. But, that might be just because I HATE Beckett with a passion. Too much of a Head Hunter for me.Still and will always be a New England Patriots fan.

Two teams told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark that the Marlins thought they had traded Lee to the Yankees today. However, Lee wouldn't waive his no-trade clause.

Yeah that seem like it, I just checked the injury update thread in the players forum and the MRI didn't show anything serious, just some inflammation and they gave him a cortisone shot.
But sometimes that can linger if you don't give it a chance to heal completely, so I wonder if they would have placed Tex on the 15 Day DL to make room for Lee had he not vetoed the trade."Owning the Yankees is like owning the Mona Lisa." -- George M. Steinbrenner III

With the Yankees stated goal of lowering payroll to $189 million, trading for Felix makes no sense. The cons outweigh the pros - not only are you trading two quality, cost-effective young starters (and weakening overall rotation depth), but it also means the chances of retaining Cano/Granderson become slim to none.

You would think that Lee would want to be in the middle of a pennant race instead of playing for 2 bad teams during the same year. plus, it's not like Lee is tearing it up in Miami right now either.

All kidding aside, I can see why a professional baseball player wouldn't want to leave Miami, that place is swarming with hot women walking around in bikinis, lots of gorgeous latino girls too ... for a guy like Carlos Lee (rich, famous and latino), that place is nirvana.
