The Bavarians edged Dortmund 2-1 at Allianz Arena to salvage their 2012 year.

Two goals in the first 11 minutes from Mario Mandzukic in the 6th minute and Thomas Muller in the 11th were good enough for Bayern even though Robert Lewandowski made things interesting with 15 minutes to go.

It is Bayern's 56th officially recognized honor overall.

    Look who's back...

Another season in the Spanish Primera Liga starts this weekend.

Will Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid win their second straight La Liga title?

Or will Pep Guardiola's successor at Barcelona, Tito Vilanova, bring back the La Liga title back to Catalonia?

How well will the likes Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao fare?

How well will the Galician derby rivals Deportivo La Coruna and Celta de Vigo fare in their returns to La Liga?

    It all starts this weekend.
It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
