2012 Boone Logan Performance Thread
I couldn't find a current thread for this guy, so apologies if it already exists. Either way, he's not getting nearly enough love.
17.1 IP, 14.02 K/9, 3.12 BB/9, 1.81 FIP, 2.25 xFIP, 3.12 ERA. That's basically D-Rob with fewer walks.
Of course, he doesn't pitch to righties as much (48 TBF to 28 TBF), but if he can lower the walks against them, watch out (currently 13.5 K/9 but 4.5 BB/9). Even now, I think he should be used more often.

One thing I've learned about Boone Logan: As soon as you start saying good things about him, bad things happen.

They say lefty pitchers mature later. He's still awfully young! The trend is definitely in the right direction. Good thing Girardi doesn't overuse his bullpen the way Torre did!

Something is amiss.
David Ortiz tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003.

45 appearances in 80 something games.... if he's not hurt by now, he will be soon

Hopefully the ASB will be what he needs -- a break from Joe will do him good.
Oh man....

Re: 2012 Boone Logan Performance Thread
it's not joe's fault... they've been playing a bunch of close games
if anything, blame the offense for not blowing out other teams

Re: 2012 Boone Logan Performance Thread
It's truly amazing. Anytime anyone says anything remotely critical of Joe you are immediately on it. You must have some new fangled APP that beeps when someone types "Joe" or "Girardi."
No, I don't think Joe is abusing Logan. I was saying the man can use a break from his manager, the game, the boys .. for a few days ... and hopefully he will be tan and rested for next weekend.Oh man....

Re: 2012 Boone Logan Performance Thread
And the enigma that is Boone Logan continues tonight. Just as awful performance against the LH batters tonight will probably end up costing the Yankees the game. He reminds me a lot of Farnsworth: has all the talent in world with great stuff yet just cannot step up to that elite level.
