Clay Rapada now holds this distinction: No pitcher in baseball history has as many as 7 wins with 0 losses in his career.

More importantly, this guy has been a true LOOGY this year. He was a great pick-up.

He broke a tie with Texas rookie Robbie Ross, who improved to 6-0 on June 10.

Rapada ups his distinction. No pitcher in baseball history has as many as 8 wins with 0 losses in his career.

Reminds me of Aaron Small starting with us and going 10-0.

He should retire now as the all-time leader in Win% among pitchers with at least 8 wins.

    Yes, I realize that's it's a meaningless stat...but it IS interesting.
More to the point is that, when used properly, he is a true LOOGY....He can be very important in the playoffs.

Re: 2012 Clay Rapada Performance Thread

He's been used correctly. It is that simple. There quite a few cheap, scrap heap guys who can dominate lefties. Our problem in the past has been that they've been forced to face righties as well but as Rapada is our second lefty, he's only faced around 30 hitters from the opposite side. Also interesting that he's been more successful at home this year but this is a SSS.

He tied a season-high with 6 batters faced today. The previous time he faced 6 batters was May 13.

On another note, White Sox rookie Nate Jones has tied Rapada for the most career wins without a loss at 8-0.

Know what the best part about this signing was? He's under team control THROUGH 2016.
