Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Does this mean no one can ever wear #14 again?

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Jeezus, the guy made a bad play on a ball he should have caught and they lost. it happens. Every player on the field has cost them a game at one point or another this year or last with a bad defensive play.
Granderson has done a great job as a Yankee overall, even if he's not a tremendous defensive outfielder. Neither was Bernie, by the way...

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
I attended a game this year but when I went to games last year, I always facepalmed at how much Granderson lunges toward home plate on contact... before he runs backwards in a zig zag.
Misreading the ball and taking bad routes are the norm for him, not the exception.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Always think that he's a below average defensive CF. His read is terrible and you can see that his routes to the balls are awkward lots of time.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Even on the non-catch today... he was falling backwards, indicating he already turned around and killed his forward momentum. Bad jump, bad read... and he couldn't see the ball even when it was right on top of him.
Compare that to how Ichiro! ran forward at full sprint, in a straight line with eyes on the ball, and then slided toward the warning track to make the catch.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Meh, **** happens. Curtis gives us plenty of good baseball. The argument about Jackson is a valid one but no one expected him to maintain this kind of BA.

Every player makes a bad play that costs a game. It happens. Get over it. Wouldn't be surprised if he comes back and hits two homers tonight.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Other than being a better player, AJax will wind up being the better player.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
AJax may already be a better all around CF than Grandy mainly because Grandy isn't a good defender. Should the Yanks let Swisher walk I would like to see CG shift over to RF where I feel he's best suited as he seems to have trouble reading balls over his head.

Granderson does not have the arm to be full time RFer.

Re: 2012 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread
Granderson should have been in LF all along with Gardner in center, but that's on the Yankees not him.
