The Official 2012 Nick Swisher Performance Thread
Mods - forgive me if there is already one butI did not see it.
Can we discuss Swisher's performance? He looks terrible at the plate and that slide last night was absymal. Really he should have never been sent (cannot recall if he was getting the green light or not) considering there were less than 2 outs and the big part of the lineup coming up and I would have taken my chances with a sac fly or better.
It's a contract year and I'm a big Swisher fan so I am really hoping he pulls it together.I'm too smooth you'll never see me comin', I'm never in a hurry I'm just movin' fast...

I really like Swisher but he doesn't look good so far. Hope he doesn't spend his whole contract year pressing.

His hits have looked lucky. And he's been hacking.

Re: The Official 2012 Nick Swisher Performance Thread
He has all of 19 ABs. Not sure I'd write him off just yet.
He was sent and had little option at home as Weiters was waiting for him with the ball. No much he could do in that situtaion. If you want blame the 3B coach for sending slow footed Nick go ahead but I'd have probably sent him too on that one.Baseball is life;
the rest is just details.

1) That slide was completely on Thompson. It was a terrible call. No outs, tied game, and with the middle of your lineup coming up. You better be sure he scores standing up.
2) He had a terrible 2 months of the season (.626 April & .671 May) last year and still put up decent numbers.
3) He's still walking and slugging and has a OPS+ 155

Swisher absolutely destroyed the ball in the 10th inning, and that moonshot propelled the Yankees to victory.
I really hope we see a lot more of these in the coming months.

That ball had an in-flight movie! After the final out, loved seeing him turn and salute the ass munch that threw the ball at him.

He can press when he struggles, but flip-wise he seems like a guy who can go on a tear once he's feeling good about himself. It would be nice to see him get hot for a while.

Re: The Official 2012 Nick Swisher Performance Thread
He's looking slimmer again this year. It's clear to me that he wants to remain a Yankee although I'm not sure he will be. We have to cut payroll to so I think he'll be playing elsewhere when his contract is up. However, he's a really good player who brings a lot to this team. That bomb last night came its it's own exclamation point.

Re: The Official 2012 Nick Swisher Performance Thread
A fellow Swisher owner in fantasy, eh?
Look at his stat line again. He only got on base once today; therefore, if he had three steals, he would've had to steal second, third, and home. He does not have a run. Impossible.
He did not steal any bases. Hopefully they decide never to correct this, because this means I might have a shot at winning steals this week.
