Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/0...ned-on-pineda/But Girardi said he would pitch one of those two games, depending on C. C. Sabathia. If the Yankees keep Sabathia on his regular four days of rest, he will pitch Saturday and Garcia on Sunday.
“I’m not sure we want Freddy to have too much time off between starts,” Girardi said. “You’re probably going to see Freddy one day and C. C. the other.”
I'd like nothing more than a TON of time between Freddy's starts personally.
But i get they are worried about his feel for his pitches...he's just painful to watch at this point...

The Yanks arent skipping Garcia, I guess they are giving him enough rope to hang himself.

Garcia facing a desperate Tigers team, vs a guy the Yankees never faced before. A recipe for disaster if there ever was one.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
I remember reading an article a few weeks before the season began on how the Yankees suddenly had an abundance of starting pitching . Man, that did'nt last long.
What we can appreciate now is that the Yankees from 1996-2003 were even more extraordinary than we thought.

$200+M payroll, 1 good pitcher, 2 shaky average pitchers and the rest are lucky to pitch more innings than they give up in runs.
