Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
Why did Cash re-sign Garcia over Colon again?

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
Hopefully Joe was not serious during the in-game interview on Fox. I would hate to see another month of Garcia in the rotation.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
I think it's pretty clear that Garcia and Hughes will be the rotation casualties when Pettitte and Pineda are ready.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
the game on the 27th has Garcia scheduled to face Verlander. Talk about your mismatches. Pray for a rain out today, and Garcia missing a turn.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
I'm pretty happy about it to be honest. Doesn't really matter which pitcher you put up against the Tigers with Verlander on the mound right now, might aswell hope Garcia has a good day and have much better chances winning the other games of the series. If it was the post season on the other hand.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
Stranger things have happened but I don't see him making more than five more starts this whole year. Suspect he'll become a mop up guy who cuts traded for next-to-nothing or cut.

But, but, Girardi kept saying how his ST velocity on his FB was way up ( all the way to 89 )

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
When pineda and andy come back, granted andy is rotation worthy, who else do you guys think is going to get the boot?

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
It's too early to say. Pineda appears to be a long way off. Obviously when Pettitte is ready he'll replace Garcia, unless there's a dramatic change of events in the next couple weeks.
Obviously Hughes is next in line to be replaced, since he has a successful history in the bullpen and isn't dominating so far as a starter, but again it's a long way off if you ask me.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
Very true, i like phil being used solely for the bullpen. I think it will allow him to concentrate and get comfortable and will make him find his pitches, and velocity.

Re: 2012 Freddy Garcia performance thread.
I know TV can be deceiving, but Garcia looked like he was playing soft-toss - hardly exerting any effort. Seemed like it took forever for the ball to get to the plate.
