Teammates With At Least 3,000 Hits Each
I'm looking for all pairs of teammates with at least 3,000 hits each (after both players reached the milestone). My dad suggested Paul Molitor and Robin Yount, but as of the end of 1992, the last season they were teammates, Molitor had only 2,281 while Yount had 3,025. Cal Ripken Jr. had 2,549 as of the end of 1996, the last season he was a teammate with Eddie Murray, who had 3,218 hits after 1996. Rodriguez has 2,778 hits and could reach 3,000 hits and 2013 and he and Jeter could do it. Looking farther, I found teammates with over 3,500 hits each. Ty Cobb (4,189 hits) and Tris Speaker (3,514 hits) were teammates with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1928, the last season for both of them.

Re: Teammates With At Least 3,000 Hits Each
Happened in the National League West during 2001 ... for only one brief day of the season.
I guess that the next time it will happen will be late in the 2013 season.Just a Sox Fan with a Yankee Wife in tow... and with one little Red Sox fan now welcoming her new baby Yankee fan sister into "our" Yankees/Red Sox World.

Rodriguez (first among active players and 15th all-time with 1,826) and Jeter (second among active players and 21st all-time with 1,772) could become the first pair of teammates with 2,000 runs each. Only seven players have reached 2,000 runs.
