Well, Miguel Cabrera is on pace for 194 RBI and Justin Upton is on pace for 64 HRs.

True, I know he probably won't reach 376 I think that be only behind Ryan and just ahead of the Big Unit but he has a very real shot at passing 300 which is insane and he looks Pedro-esque and I doubt I've ever said that about anyone in my life.

Yeah, if he stays healthy 300 looks to be almost a lock.

And when I say Pedro-esque I mean pure stuff and repertoire of plus plus pitches. Pedro obviously had legendary command of all his pitches.

Oh I thought you meant he traveled with a midget.

I haven't been been able to confirm that Darvish does not.

    Re: The Yu Darvish thread.

Every game he's pitched except one has been against a team that's in the top 4 in strikeouts on the season:

    Astros (1st in Ks)
    Angels x 2 (4th)
    Seattle x 2 (3rd)
    Red Sox (2nd)
    White Sox (6th)

He's faced a whole boatload of teams that strike out a whole bunch.
    Yes, I'm a girl.

AL K% is about 20%. K% of those teams combined is about 23%. If you adjust Darvish's K rate down accordingly, he'd still be at 12k/9 and well on pace for 300+Ks.

You need to warn people when you are about to post one of your zingers. I just wasted half of an apple when I dropped it on the floor.

I got to watch him against Boston, not sure who else got to see him. He was filthy when he found his stride....great velo, better movement, threw his full arsenal working both forwards and backwards....
    Goin for 2<strike>7</strike>8!

    Re: The Yu Darvish thread.

Had a fairly bad outing on Saturday vs. the Astros. 7IP, 3H, 3ER, 3BB, 8Ks.

    Season stats: 52.2IP/8GS, 6W/1L,164 ERA+, 0.911WHIP, 5.1H/9,0.9HR/9, 3.1BB/9, 13.7SO/9. 4.44 SO/BB.

He really could stand to attack the zone a little more. This Z-contact% is 77.2%, lowest in MLB for qualified pitchers. RA Dickey's in 3rd place with 79.7%, Verlander in 6th with 81.9%.

Funny I thought the OP meant that Darvish also has a mango tree to relax under.

It's quite amazing to just see him flip a switch in the middle of a game. Alter his mechanics just a little bit and suddenly he's giving hitters a totally different look.

Easily the most exciting pitcher in MLB now IMO. Everything he does is textbook. He's basically the type of pitcher I try to build in video games.

    On the hook for the loss with 6IP, 5H, 1ER, 3BB, 5SO.

He isn't striking out 18K/9? What a bum.

The rangers were due to give this guy a blank. They've averaged like 10 runs a game for him this year i swear
