It was a ridiculously excruciating game in every aspect you can think of.
The fact that we won that farse of a game makes it all the more sweeter to me.
BMore and the Yankees have to be looking at the scoreboard in disbelief everyday like Creed and Rocky did at the end of their fight.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
I was thinking about yesterday's absurd game (that thankfully they won) and noted that Girardi pinch ran for Chavez in the 14th. That left no first basemen on the bench. McGeeheehee started and left, Swish was out of the game, Teix was unavailable (much to snapple's dismay), Pearce was in and was out, then the last firstbaseman - Chavez was removed for Mesa.
We all know that Mesa nearly caused the game to go to the 15th, if not for our pal Brandon Moss making that error.
If they went to the 15th, who was going to play first?
Ibanez, I guess. He hasn't played 1B in years, but at least he has played there.
I'm glad we didn't have to find out.Equally as calm as ClownPickle ~(+/- 1)

Just found out now--11:30 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012--that the Yanks won yesterday. I wanted to put as much distance from yesterday's game, and even cringed to see the official score this morning when....

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
It's to the point where we have to keep Eduardo Nunez as strictly a pinch runner. He's not much of a hitter and costs us games (twice in two weeks already) on the field.
I have no statistical evidence to prove my point, but Jayson Nix has to be a better defender than Nunez.

A good job by the Yankees on this homestand as they won every series. Though it would have been awesome to pick up a game on the O's todayand sweep the A's, all in all, way to take care of business against the A's.

I am concerned about the starting rotation. Going into the playoffs everyone is coughing up a bunch of runs.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
I agree with you, but I don't think it's true that he cost us two games. In the game where he made the error a couple of weeks ago, the Yankees were already trailing by a run, and they never scored again. So they'd have lost anyway.
As for today's game, much as I'd like to blame Nunez ... it was tied in the top of the sixth inning when he made the first error. And the Yankees never scored again.
If he didn't make the first error (the second error turned out not to cost them), they might still be playing, but I'm not at all sure they would have won.
