It's "Chien-Ming Wang."
Verlander will be undefeated in his last 9 starts in which he allowed at least 2 home runs if the Yankees don't come back.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
We're having trouble. A lot of trouble,But, are we doomed. NO of course not the Yankees management can see these games just as well as we can. It's only a matter of time before we get someone I think. We got CC who's doing pretty good. Nova, who regardless of what anyone says about him right now is doing pretty good IMHO. Once Pettitte is back we'll be DFAing Garcia. Joba for Haren? Isn't Joba out for the whole 2012? If I was the other team I wouldn't trade Joba for Haren. At least not at this point if he's out for the Year. However if he is back soon, that changes everything. I loved Pineda and hoped to see him this year, but I'll just see him next year though. We are most likely gonna trade for some big pitcher. With 3 of our five pitchers not really doing what they needed to do. What I am mostly worried about is who they are going to trade.
Still and will always be a New England Patriots fan.

Wow. Was there anyone, and I mean anyone, who thought that Garcia would get bludgeoned today AND that the Yankee offense would make an unheralded 12 year-old rookie they'd never seen before look like the second coming of Cy Young? You just can't predict baseball.

All kidding aside, I wonder if Anaheim would bite on a Phelps/Warren/Mitchell/Hughes + Nunez/etc. package for Haren.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
The baseball-reference Play Index goes back to 1918 and today was the first time a pitcher allowed at least 7 hits, at least 7 walks, and at least 1 home run in no more than 4 2/3 innings but allowed no more than 3 runs. That's what Max Scherzer did against the Yankees today. Scherzer and Luke Putkonen combined to average 27 pitches per inning in the first 6 1/3 innings.

Why can't this team hit with RISP? It's been an ongoing thing for years now.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
What is our outfield situation while Swisher sits out? Gardner is on the DL so that leaves us with Jones - Granderson - Ibanez and no 4th OF'er, unless I'm forgetting someone. I assume Nunez will either DH or play SS/3B. Yet another reason they should just cut ties with Freddy. Call up DeWayne Wise and let him take Garcia's roster spot.

I now he just got shelled, but are there any plans on moving campos up to double A. He only had one bad start otherwise he's looked really good.

Mr. C, time to check the batteries on the ol' sarcasm detector. Tek zinged ya.
They have a 127 sOPS+ with RISP. On the whole they've done very well with RISP this year. Folks just tend to remember the negative outcomes individually.
And I agree with your post that sample sizes and relative abilities of offenses to get guys in RISP can skew those RISP stats to a degree.
