Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
This is a great question. The stat guys and the people who love saying things like "that pitcher's ceiling is a #3" are never going to be that high on Nova. But all he does is go out and win baseball games. I want him in that rotation and in a playoff series I want to give him the ball as much as possible.

I know it's way too early into the 2012 season, but just imagine a playoff rotation if and when the Yankees get there and also if Nova keeps winning, CC Sabathia getting his groove back and Andy Pettitte gets into full baseball shape and is firing on all cylinders, Wowza!
Game 1: CC Sabathia
Game 2: Ivan Nova
Game 3: Andy Pettitte
The fourth-man is up in the air between Hiroki Kuroda, Freddy Garcia (if still on the team) and Michael Pineda (if he really starts in 2012). Sorry Phil Hughes, his straight line fastball and non-existent curveball doesn't help me unless you shut me up.It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.

Re: 2012 General Yankee Comments Thread
Yesterday was the first time since April 17, 2009 that the Yankees had at least 5 home runs but no more than 6 runs. In both games the Yankees had exactly 5 home runs, exactly 6 runs, and the run that did not score on a home run was unearned.

Favorite regular season game of all-time?

You guys could not have said it any better. It really is the games like today that i am proud and thankful to be a fan of the New York Yankees. I wish sooo badly that i could have been in that stadium for those last 3 innings, no doubt in my mind there would have been one or more fights eventually leading to one or more people being thrown out. GO YANKS!!

I'd like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee fan

Today Boston had five pitchers allow more than 1 earned run per inning. The record since 1918 for most teammates to do that in a game is six.

I actually had to turn it off after the 5th inning. Went out to the mall and come home to find out Yanks blew them out was awesome. Another great game was Abbot's perfect game.
